The 2010 event is going to be at the Woahink Lake Day use area-Gazebo in Florence OR. Sign in is at 9:00 AM September 25, 2010.. We are organizing a diving poker run event, above water games, a family BBQ, Dr. Zena Monji, MD as a keynote speaker and a sweepstakes drawing. There are many GREAT prizes and more are added every day.

The 2009 Dive for a Cure event was held at the Woahink Lake Day use area-Gazebo in Florence OR. The day started with the check in and the divers who participated in the poker run getting ready.  The underwater poker run was very fun, but competitive.  Then the games started and the competition continued.  The Octo Toss had a line of at least 50 adults and children waiting their turn to toss 1lb weights into holes cut in a piece of plywood with a spectacular octopus painted on it trying to get the most points.  Next came the fin race, complete with a photo finish with participants diving across the finish line.  In between the fin race and the final competitions, Burgers on the Run provided an outstanding lunch complete with choices of deluxe hamburgers, garden burgers, hotdogs, chips, salads, beverages and dessert.

The Dive for a Cure event would not have gone as well as it did without the effort put in by everyone who participated.  For 2008 we sent almost $20,000.00 to the OHSU Cancer Institute.  For 2009 we sent $30,000.00.
